MUCES

No se pueden perder el festival de MUCES en Segovia esta semana. El festival de MUCES es el quinto festival más importante de España según el Ministerio de Cultura ya que es el único festival europeo escogido para poner las diez películas finalistas del Premio Lux que son votados por los parlamentarios europeos. Este año el premio se lo llevó la película Sami Blood que será expuesta en dos ocasiones durante el festival. Dicha película será traducida en las 27 lenguas de la Unión Europea.

Tuve la oportunidad de entrevistar al director del evento, Eliseo de Pablos, quien organiza varios festivales internacionales de cine en México, Brasil, España y de cine y literatura en Chile. De Pablos tiene mucha experiencia en el cine y arte, particularmente diseñando museos y exposiciones como por ejemplo la de Pablo Pizarro en la Casa de la Moneda o la de Luis Moro o Damans Montiel.

De Pablos organizó el evento espectacular de MUCES donde se muestran 112 películas y se hacen un total de 197 proyecciones de películas de 37 países. Vienen famosos a hacer presencia como Antonio Resines, Ana Morgade y Rosa Montero, y, desde luego no faltará el cineasta homenajeado, Fernando Colomo. Las películas son películas de la sección oficial con mayoría de los premios europeos como el Festival de Sevilla (película ganadora: A Fabrica de Nada y Western), Espiga de Oro de la Ceminci (película ganadora: Cairo Confidencial), Cannes Palma de Oro (película ganadora: The Square) y el Oso de Plata de Berlín (película ganadora y que inauguró el festival de MUCES: Felicite).

Las increíbles proyecciones seguirán a lo largo de la semana y se harán en los cines de Segovia y se realizarán proyecciones dentro del casco antiguo habilitando iglesias como la Iglesia San Quirce. ¡Aprovechen los días que quedan!

You cannot miss out on the MUCES festival happening in Segovia this week. This festival is the fifth most important festival of Spain according to the Culture Ministry since it’s the only European chosen festival to show the ten finalist movies of the Lux Film Prize chosen by the European parliamentarians. This year the winner was Sami Blood which will be played twice during MUCES. This movie will be translated into the 27 European Union languages after winning said prize.

I had the chance to interview the Director of the event, Mr Eliseo de Pablos, who organizes many international film festivals in Mexico, Brazil, Spain and film and literature festivals in Chile. De Pablos has extensive experience in cinema and art, namely designing museums and expositions like Pablo Pizarro’s in Casa de la Moneda or Luis Moro’s or Damans Montiel’s.

De Pablos organized the spectacular event of MUCES where 112 movies are played in a total of 197 projections of movies from 37 different countries. Celebrities like Antonio Recines, Ana Morgade and Rosa Montero are coming as well as the honoured filmmaker Fernando Colomo. The films are selected from the official section of most European prizes like the Seville Festival (winning movie: A Fabrica de Nada and Western), Golden Spike of the Ceminci (winning movie: Cairo Confidential), Cannes Film Festival (winning movie: The Square) and Silver Bear of Berlin (winning movie and movie with which MUCES was inaugurated: Felicite).

The incredible projections will continue happening throughout the week and will be held at Segovia’s cinemas and some projections inside the Old Town of Segovia enabling churches like the church of San Quirce. Try not to miss the rest of the events!
